Now residing unevenly north of New Orleans, across The Lake & out in the backwoods with his little Catahoula mix dog, I am originally from the southern Oregon coast & have been a former A.P.E., tortilla baker in a Mexican foods factory, farmhand, political cartoonist, barista, sales clerk, beer-tender, performance poet, pizza maker, puller on a shrimp boat, bookseller, busboy in a Chinese restaurant, produce manager, massage bootlegger, playwright, library page, newspaper editor & reporter, filmmaker, etc. Often this blog will deal with Migraines & Seizures, which I am a daily sufferer. In addition to all that, twice I have almost died. Once when attempting to swim across Silver Creek (in the Rogue River valley of Oregon), I was caught by an undercurrent and carried a good distance towards the rapids. The second time was when I was driving with a friend up a Fire Service road to the fire lookout tower on Bald Knob (in the same region). The car fell off the mountain. Only a four-inch tree and two small boulders saved his car from falling several hundred feet. There were no other trees or rocks for fifty yards either way, keeping me alive to be read on this blog.
